The Education Committee works to support the following objectives:
To provide genealogy education to ISGS members and the genealogical community as a whole.
To educate the general public about genealogy in order to get people interested in discovering their family history while promoting the study of genealogy.
One of our biggest projects is the implementation of monthly webinars. Each month ISGS will offer an educational webinar with topics focusing on Illinois research, methodology, and beginning research. The webinars will be open to the public when they are presented live. After that, an archived copy of the webinar will be available to ISGS members at any time through our members-only website.
Other projects include:
Educational articles on the ISGS Blog
Youth Workshop (in conjunction with the Fall Conference)
If you would like to be involved in this committee, please fill out the Volunteer Form and check “Education Development” under the Areas of Interest section. If there is something specific you would like to work on, please note it in the field marked Additional special talents or interests.
